Talk 1 - Pauline Rowan

Pauline Rowan is an Irish visual artist who works predominately in photography. Her works often explore the relationships between cultural, ritualistic symbolism and individual perceptions of reality. Her focus begins rooted in place and personal experience, transforming through investigations and often personal vulnerabilities as she conjures a psychological space and offers a new potentiality.

Pauline presented some background to her practice and introduce two projects - Under a Vaulted Sky and Between the Gates - a new body of work.

Talk 2 - Oonagh Young

Gallerist and designer Oonagh Young gave us an overarching view of her work. Using the fluency in visual narratives, which coheres much of her practice, she highlighted that what she looks for in curation and book design is content-led. Works used as examples were the publications MUSEUM by Dragana Jurišić and Paula Meehan, 30/30 by Adrian O’Carroll and As Far as I Can See by Corban Walker.

Róisín White is a visual artist based in Dublin. She has an expanded photographic practice which often incorporates sculpture, drawing and textiles. Róisín spoke about her recently published photobook "Lay Her Down Upon Her Back", published by Witty Books and Breadfield Press as part of the Landskrona Foto Dummy Book Award.
